This week has been another very cold week! It has snowed pretty much every day. It snows then they salt the place and the snow goes away, then repeats process the next day. Elder Dearden had a pretty hard fall yesterday on the ice.
Nothing crazy happened this week, just work work work. Thursday we went hard in this one area that we were working in (trying to get a good chunk of the 3000 homes in that area done then move to the next big project area) when we met a new guy that let us in right away. As of right now, he’s just wanting to know what we believe and not go further. Once the spirit hits him, he will change... ;) We picked up a former, but he doesn’t seem to want to progress. We don’t think it will go much father than our next lesson--but still a very nice guy.
Saturday I felt bad because we didn’t get a lot of missionary work done. However, we did so service for a ward member for a while then lots of weekly planning and area book work. That evening we had dinner with a member that lives very far away.
Sunday we had a new guy in church and got him a baptismal date too! Super cool, but before you ask a ton of questions mom he’s 35, and the only thing he really remembers about the church from his past lessons was the word of wisdom. He thinks that’s the main point of our church ha ha.. We can’t meet with him next week because of his schedule and he’s probably moving to another city in a couple weeks (so they can baptism him there). Still a win for the kingdom of God:)
This week we taught 10 lessons vs last week we taught 5-6. Momentum is heading in the right direction.
Also, fun fact the old testament never once says Christ in it and never ever said Jesus Christ, so our ex-jw investigator got very upset when he saw it in Alma 30 something. So, we went searching for it and found that the name Jesus Christ is said in Moses 6. Amazing to have an investigator that goes so deep into the gospel and actually looks for answers rather than problems!
Love you all!
