This week we had an amazing thanksgiving with the Sherlock family (probably spelled that wrong) they are a half English half Belgium family. They were really sweet to have us over and to give us a place to call home for the night. their daughter said I sounded like like a teddy bear when I speak dutch because of my American accent and my enthusiastic tone, haha I'm a little salty about that, but she did say my pronunciation and grammar were very good so you win some and you lose some. haha
This week we spent lots of time on the door trying to find, we got a few potentials. if it was done mathematically we got about 1 potential investigator for every 200 doors. haha So we have a lot more doors and finding to do! Actually met one lady who went to a friend's wedding in salt lake city last year and after a little chat it was the sister of a friend from college, so she wrote down our names on the pass along card so she could tell her friend that she met missionaries, so sometimes you don't have to teach someone to be a missionary, sometimes the best thing we can do is to give them a good experience with missionaries so that down the road they will be more open to the next ones to come a long.
We got contact with a former investigator (who had changed numbers so other missionaries lost contact) and set up a lesson with her in a couple weeks, and finally got contact with our main (and only, haha) investigator after a week of him having phone problems. phones are the worst, haha! Anyway this goes well with my thought for today, we saw both these miracles yesterday while a member was fasting for the missionary work in Antwerp-en. We are doing a Month of Miracles, where we have a member fasting for the work everyday of the month, and we've seen some great miracles here in Antwerp-en since then. It just is a great testimony to me of the power of fasting and the power of member missionary work. You don't have to go on joint teach or invite a friend to church every week, to do missionary work! So my challenge for all of you is to get more involved with the missionary work in your ward or area! Ask the missionaries for a name of someone you can pray for everyday, find a time in the month to fast for the missionary work in your ward, and look for small opportunities to share your faith especially in the Christmas season! If you do that I promise that the Lord will help the individuals you pray for, the missionaries in your area, and you will know what to say when you have an opportunity to share your testimony!
