So if the title didn't give it away, I'm headed to Hilversum! It's right in the middle of the Netherlands pretty much. I don't know a ton about the city itself, other than that is where Nike's Europe headquarters are! I have been in the apartment before. The only difference between then and now is that it will be a 4-man. So now 4 elders live in the apartment that was meant for 2! The reason for it is Hilversum has a very small branch and pretty much all of them are old people, so the branch is literally dying off. Basically they are loading it up with missionaries so that we can try to find people as the branch's last hope. We have probably 2 transfers to get work done. So my companion is Elder Croft (one transfer younger than me). Funny enough, we went to school together and lived in the same dorm building, so we know each other a bit. I'm stoked, its going to be great! And because I'll probably be mentioning the other guys names often, i will also live with Elder Turner and Elder Christianson. Our address is:
Banckertlaan 127
1215 PX Hilversum
So this was a sick[great] week, with the members fasting for us! we got a couple new investigators, set up a few more first lessons for the coming week, and gave out tons of Book of Mormons! It was a success, and its just got to keep going this next week with Elder Jardine and his new comp Elder Meister. So yeah it was a success!
So Ron update of the week: he past his baptismal interview this last Saturday and to answer mom's question that interview is done by the District Leader; which is a great time to also throw out that me and Elder Croft are the district leaders in our area. so that will be fun and a great time to learn. So Ron is getting baptized this Saturday at 1pm! It's going to be so sick. and I've already got permission to go to the baptism, so we are good there. The Mission President is coming too and will be speaking, also me and Elder Dearden will be speaking real briefly. This weekend is going to be really cool. I also just got word that another person I taught in Sint Niklaas is going to get baptized on may 14th so that's exciting as well, (too far away to go for), his name is Maarten. which I don't know if I ever used his full name back then, so hopefully you guys can figure out who that was from old emails.
In short, lots of cool experiences coming down the pipeline here soon. I'm sad to leave, but before transfer calls came I made the decision that i needed to go somewhere else, so that i can learn, and Heavenly Father blessed me with that chance. I'm saying goodbye to Ron tonight (Monday) luckily ill be seeing them soon, but I'm probably going to cry because Ron and Esther are legitamitely my Dutch Mom and Dad, so its going to be hard to say goodbye. Ron's Family is from Hilversum, so he said if he is ever there, we will meet up so maybe ill see him still.
Love you guys!
