So this was a tough but amazing week!
Why tough? Because we did lots of finding and didn't find a ton of success from it.
Why amazing? Because I wore a white shirt WITHOUT A JACKET for the first time in 5 month or something like that. haha
So one quick little story of member missionary work: we have a less active lady Sister N that has become numb to missionaries and our visits, as soon as we talk about the gospel, she just says yes to anything so that we can go away. So we brought a couple from the ward with us and it went better (not a ton but improvement is improvement) It was amazing to have that joint teaching visit and they realized that us visiting her isn't helping (we've told the Branch President that numerous times but without help) so the couple decided they will go on one more Joint Teaching visit again in a couple weeks, and after that they will start visiting her every month instead of us. It was a really cool experience and definitely helped grow my testimonies of member Joint Teaching visits.
Yes, Ron watched some of conference and he thought it was great! He really liked President Uchtdorf's talk about the Atonement of Christ and comparing it to the city of Dresden. It was especially amazing to listen to that talk because we visited Dresden back when I did my High School exchange in Germany. In an instant all the memories of seeing the church building and the rebuilt city came back to my mind! It is amazing. One thing I'd like to add to Presidents Uchtdorf comparison is that many of the original brick are dented and broken from the bullets and shrapnel and I think that really helps add to the image, because the Atonement of Christ can completely rebuild us to what we once were and more, but it doesn't mean there won't be scars. We carry physical and emotional scars from life, just like the brick of the buildings in Dresden, but those scars are there to help us learn. When we repent God remembers them no more, but we remember them so we can do them no more.
And on that bomb shell I wish you guys a good week :)
