So this week has definitely been an up and down week. People are starting to get back and settled after vacation but that doesn't seem to help our numbers at all. We had like 10 straight appointments not show up from Wed-Friday which means we spent tons of time on buses and trains and not much time teaching or finding.
But we did get 2 people on baptismal date! They are BF and GF with the cutest 7 month old! It was only our second meeting with them and we talked about baptism, confirmation, and enduring to the end. The whole lesson was super rough, me and my comp weren't really working super well together and it all just was very very rusty. but we still felt like we should ask them to be baptized, which i didn't want to do after how it felt like it was going, but we still did and they accepted. Then they asked "will could you guys give us a reminder call the night before or something?" haha. Nah, we will be with you the whole way!
Anyway that's where my message comes from today. We as people are not perfect at all (like our teaching in that lesson) but Our Heavenly Father knows that! He knows that we will fall short at many times in our life, but he will always be there to help! He is the master planner and isn't going to let some bad dutch prevent someone from receiving his glorious gospel! And the same goes for us as well, we all have struggles/trials/temptations in our lives that we need to over come and at many times these trials seem too hard to bear or endure. I've never dealt with a death in my family, struggles in a marriage, or not being able to put food on the table, but i do know that God is always there for us and will never give us trials that be can't handle WITH his help. They are only ever too much for us if we try to do these things alone! So to bring the tangent back around to the point, as the master planner he knows what you will and are tried with and he wont let these problems in our lives stop us from our eternal goal of Eternal life with our family. This week think of the trials you are going through and plan how you can better LET God help you to endure these things! And to help I'm including 2 of my favorite scriptures about trials both of which have helped me in my struggles (one from bible and other from Book Of Mormon)
1 Nephi 3:7
7 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.
1 Cor. 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
