This week I would like to start talking about knocking doors, more specifically some of the great responses we heard this last week. here is the top 3:
1. "Hello we are volunteers out of America and..." "why don't you guys get on a plane and go back!!!" (said by an 80yr old lady)
2. "Hello we are here in the area tonight to share a message about Jesus Christ..." "and you think its christian to knock on my door at 8pm?"[slams door] (30 yr old lady)
3. "Hello we are here to share a free book with people..." (old lady speaking hard core dialect) "Can you speak normal dutch... no?... that's what i thought" [slam]
Those responses are always the funniest and give you enough fun to last you for the next hour or two haha! On the bright side we were asked out by a couple 18year old chicks, so doing doors isn't too bad ;) (just kidding Jen!) Fun fact, more dutch girls smoke than dutch guys and its just disgusting.
We did service again Saturday cutting wood and it looks like that will be the last time they need help. It's fun to get out and do something different for a change. I made stompot for the first time Saturday. it is like very traditional dutch food its kinda like mash potatoes with tons of stuff put in it as well! It's super lekker (delicious)!
Things with our investigator Ron, are good. We watched the Restoration video with him and when it talks about Joseph Smith trying to find the truth by the bible alone he stopped the video and said "before I started investigating the church I looked into another church and doctrine because the last thing I wanted was to become Mormon, but its impossible to find the correct truth from only the bible because everyone really does read it differently!" Nice little testimony from Ron about how needed the Book Of Mormon. His wife should be coming with him to Stake Conference this Saturday night and they are driving us there, so we will get more homie time with them! Other than that we have a newer investigator Danny, that is chill. He loves the couple chapters of the Book of Mormon so far that we've given him to read, so hopefully he will progress soon (hes from Syria)
so that's all I got for you guys! Love you! and Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
