This week has been crazy. I'll try to hit a few highlights. Also thanks for the packages! and shout out to the Bakers for also sending me some cookies!
So i have a companion now. Elder Leishman, he’s from Idaho Falls and did a year of school up at the University of Wyoming. He’s really easy to get along with so things are great. we have 14 elders that are going to the Netherlands (and one sister)so we have a pretty great group. Our zone is a bunch of people going to Scandinavia (Danish, Swedish, Norwegian) so ill be in the same zone as my roommate tanner in a couple weeks.
First night we did a tie draft of our least favorite ties and i got the famous Stars and Moon tie (pics later) and as the rules i had to wear it the next day when i met the branch president. So that tie kept me pretty safe from becoming the DL :)
So as for the language its definitely coming along. The German hurts when you are speaking but it does make up for that in helping with sentence structures and conjugations. We’ve already started to teach investigators in the language which is fun and frustrating. While teaching our investigator i accidentally ask her to murder someone instead of get baptized. both spelled the same but pronounced differently haha :)
We had a great devotional from Elder Christopherson about how to love the people and how to know if you are doing enough. The MTC is an amazing place! I’ve already grown so much and have such a huge desire to serve him more. I am so glad i made this decision to serve a mission!
Ik houd van u. (look it up) tell the girls i love them and miss them!
