I sent a picture (see below) the other day of a lovely gift we got from Ron and Esther. Actually the heart was just part of it, the other part was a new cooking pan and pannenkoeken mix (dutch crepes) because we had told them about our failed attempt to make some pannenkoeken. It was really fun and thoughtful of them! Then they gave us a ride to Apeldoorn (couple hrs away) for Stake Conference. Its was a good evening and I think they both enjoyed it! Ron came to the session on Sunday morning as well, and we were able to introduce him to President Bunnell (our Mission President) who told us he would come to Ron's baptism (no date yet).
So crazy story, we had a member fast for us for a day, so that we could find more people to teach, and we met a guy on the deur (AKA Door, his dutch is filtering through) that talked to missionaries 20 years ago in another city and still had the same pass along card, that they gave him, in his wallet! So we one-upped the old elders and gave him a book! :) He's one that would rather figure out religion on his own so I don't know if we will be able to meet with him again, but still a really cool experience!
Lastly an experience of the power of prayer! So we taught this lady Charlotte and the first lesson was fine and the second lesson was about the same. she was interested more for infomation sake. But at the end of the second lesson we really spent a while teaching about prayer (why, what we say, etc) and asked her to pray and we stayed silent after the prayer until she said something. So she prayed and after 15-20 secs she said "thank you" and we could just see that something was different about her, she spoke in a different tone, and she said it was a special moment of peace and rest. Amazing to see first hand the power pray can have on our hearts!
