So this week was pretty uneventful missionary work wise but a pretty fun week. Here are some quick highlights:
Monday: Preparation Day in Amsterdam. What a beautiful city! I love it! We went to the Rijks Museum, which is the Dutch National Art History Museum, it's huge! We were in there for like 2-3 hours and only saw a very small amount of it. We saw like 3 member families in the city. So cool! Definitely excited to go back again soon.
Tuesday: Service all day, doing the yard of a less active family. Its looking dang good now!
Wednesday: Knocked doors the whole day while Fasting. I learned a real lesson, the Lord can only do so much, as in he can't make anyone more positive to the gospel against their will (that's not how Free Agency works), but he does what he can, because people out of no where, were giving us several waters and sodas. I came home with 2 dr peppers, 1 coke and 1 water. So the Lord does provide what he can. haha!
Thursday: Yard work for an old lady in the branch. I don't know if we are gardeners or missionaries... haha. But the bike ride out there was beautiful, so it wasn't too bad, I realized I've finally become Dutch enough to a bike 45 minutes somewhere. I'd never biked that far, if my life depended on it before my mission (sorry Dad). Then we finished the day door knocking and dinner at the Branch Pres´s place.
Friday: Brussels! I had to trade in my Californian drivers license for a Belgian drivers license. It was really fun to walk around the Centrum and get Belgians fries and waffles. The city is armored to the teeth though. There are still some very huge threats down there. But it was a great day to hang out with some guys from the MTC and to get a little mental rest!
zaterdag (i cant spell that in English anymore): district blitz. so all the district members came to Hilversum for the day and worked here to try to find some people. Elder Jones (hes in Amersfoort) and I didn't have any luck, but a couple other guys did. Then that evening we stopped by a investigators place to invite him to church and he was having a party for his daughter, so we stayed and ate cake. His stepfather was there and super drunk. He kept making fun of us for being Mormons and even kicked me! So yeah, now I can say I've been hit because of my beliefs. We just left and earned some respect points with CJ and his other buddies and family members. But no he didn't come to church...
That's about it, definitely an interesting week, hope to have more success in the work this coming up week!
