So last night was fun, we had two neighbors of the area we were working in try to tell us that it was illegal to work on Sundays and threatened to call the cops... it was dumb so we kept going... we also met an Iranian that is about to be deported back so he asked if he can live with you mom and dad, I told him it was totally chill ;) haha
This week we had a great restoration lesson with a protestant lady, she was really cool and actually asked us questions (Dutch people don't really ever take the time to get to know you) about us, our families, and what the Book Of Mormon has done for us in our lives. No return appointment as of now, she just told us to call any day that we will be in the area and we will see if it works out or not. Hopefully it will. Ron is still chill as ever!
I'm very tired so I'm not going to write much more, but spiritual thought I liked this week came from my reading in the Book Of Mormon (gotten through 1st Nephi in dutch and defining almost every unknown word and doing other markings) I think I enjoy reading in dutch more actually, because it's not my native language so I take more time to try to understand the meaning of every word and also it's so much easier to find certain things; like any time it says "if" in English usually means there is going to be a promise given if they do something, in dutch it says "indien" so its more obvious and the way you write it grammatically makes it so much easier to make connections. anyway random side track...
1 Nephi 16 talks about Lehi and his family finding the Liahona to give them direction, but vs29 stuck out to me especially this time:
29 "And there was also written upon them a new writing, which was plain to be read, which did give us understanding concerning the ways of the Lord; and it was written and changed from time to time, according to the faith and diligence which we gave unto it. And thus we see that by small means the Lord can bring about great things."
Really focus on the "new writing" it says that it was changed from time to time and I really though about that and realized that it is comparable to our General Authorities. These give us new things to focus on "from time to time" that give us "understanding concerning the ways of the Lord" For example our Church Leaders are really pushing us to observe the Sabbath Day better because that is what is going to help us get closer to the lord! So please think about the direction that we have received from the Prophet and Apostles and how you can better apply it in your lives! love you!
