So this has been a very busy week! Elder Croft and I were saying its felt like we've been together for like 2 weeks now because so much has happened. Elder Croft is from Scottsdale Arizona and has 2 older sisters and 1 younger brother. He's a basketball player, and we are all going to play ball today as a district.
So first night (Tuesday) we had to go to Almere to sleep over and we got stuck in the pitch black train in the middle of the route for over an hour. So boring... we just talked with each other and a girl that was sitting nearby us, while all the addicts were lighting up their joints on the train. When you can't last that long you know you got a problem... haha.
Konings dag. Kings day. It is a big national holiday just celebrating the birthday of the king. Its basically like the whole country is having a party and a garage sale at the same time! its so odd, but so much fun. Just for the heck of it I traded a guy a Book of Mormon for a GPS-- you do what you got to do to share the gospel right? ;) We went to Almere and we had a stand and talked to a ton of people. It was cool because its like the only day of the year that people seem a bit open. The rest of the week it was back to normal dutch attitudes towards religion :) But we gave tons of books out, and maybe the elders there will get in contact with a couple of them again, I hope.
Spent lots of time planning this week because things were weird with how we transferred in. There were 2 companionships and one of the 2 got transferred out, so we had to figure out how to split up their potentials and current investigators. We're still kinda figuring it out. So the rest of the weekend was taken up by baptisms. One on Sunday in Utrecht for Elder Croft and the other in Groningen for Ron. That was a very amazing experience! it was honestly something I can't describe. I just don't think I've ever smiled so much, and just felt so great! It was so special to see someone you love so much take that step! I hope he doesn't mind (sorry if you do Ron ) but I'd like to share his experience when he got the gift of the holy ghost on Sunday (Ron and Esther are now on the emails)...
"...This morning the church was also very special. For the Lord's Supper I received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Brother Wim Mooy offered the prayer and brother's Blomsma and Kees
Man VanCaroline were there to lay hands on. Well that it was an experience though, Wim spoke the words receive the Holy Ghost.... What happened then was very special !! I felt a feeling starting in my head which started to flow into my chest, then it started to get very hot in my chest, I was completely confused, what a particular thing it was. I've never experienced anything like!
When it was testimony time and I stood on the stand again to share my experience of the Holy Spirit. ...""
